Aqueous solution for oral Use

Composition:Each 1 ml contains:
Bromhexine HCL 5 mg.
Bromhexine hydrochloride the active ingredient of AVIXIN is a mucolytic agent which aims to make bronchial secretions easier to propel by ciliary action to expel by coughing and in this way reduce cough frequency.
AVIXIN is also of value in achieving liquefaction and improved flow characteristics of mucus by increasing its volume and decreasing its viscidity. It is suggested that AVIXIN (Bromhexine) improves lysosomal function and that lysosomal enzymes hydrolyse the mucopolysaccharide fibers of mucus. Bromhixine brings about an increase in the content of immunoglobulin in bronchial secretions, presumably by increasing membrane permeability.
AVIXIN is indicated for the treatment of conditions of respiratory tract associated with retention of mucoid secretion such as bronchitis. It is also used as ancillary therapy in the management of bronchopenumonia in poultry, horses, cattle, dogs & cats, as well as for the treatment of amniotic fluid aspiration in newborn animals.
